A couple of weeks ago I was invited to my local L'Occitane store in Highcross, Leicester for a bloggers event.
My only experience of L'Occitane was after a few days in Paris, I decided to splash my leftover Euros on a few products at the Eurostar station, was super excited to pop my L'Occitane cherry and chose some gorgeous bits, only to leave them on the Eurostar!! Devastated!!
So I was really looking forward to finally getting to experience some of France's finest.
It all started back in 1976 when 23 year old Frenchman, Olivier Baussan began selling distilled Rosemary essential oils on the local market before reviving the traditional art of soap making in an old soap factory. Nowadays there are over 2,700 L'Occitane stores all over the world.
The bloggers event began with glasses of French rose wine and gorgeous chocolates from the lovely people at Highcross' Hotel Chocolat.
We were greeted by the friendliest staff, they really were super lovely! They handed us some fun 'blogger bingo' sheets and let us loose in the store. I loved this idea as meant we had to look a little further into the products and the brand.
The store is beautifully set out, with walls of perfectly presented products and amazing displays of skincare, fragrance, hair care, bath & body, mens products and home pieces.
I'm the first to admit I'm easily bought by cute packaging, so I was swooning over all the gorgeous bits L'Occitane have to offer.
I loved the little game they had for us to try, using fragranced funnels. We had to go through them smelling each one, deciding which fragrance we liked best until we were down to just one fragrance which was our most favourite scent. It found this pretty difficult as there were so many beautiful fragrances, but I managed to get it down to just one, which turned out to be Rose. This was pretty surprising as I probably wouldn't have gone straight to the Rose section usually. I'll definitely be adding their Rose products to my wishlist now!
We were treated to a lovely hand massage, with products from their shea butter range. Their hand cream is their best selling product worldwide, with one being sold every three seconds. My hands felt lovely and soft after a good scrub and moisturise!
Staff were on hand to offer mini facials, skin consultations and more and were extremely knowledgable and passionate about the brand.
Another best seller is their award winning anti-ageing face cream 'Divine Cream' from their Immortelle collection. I've heard amazing things about this stuff, but at £74, it's slightly out of my price range. It'd make a great present though!
Unfortunately I couldn't stay until the end as I had to get back for work. But I had a great time, learnt a lot about L'Occitane as a brand and enjoyed trying out some of their gorgeous products.
Huge thank you to the staff of L'Occitane, Highcross for inviting me to the event, for being so super lovely and for the generous goody bag which includes some lovely products I'm really looking forward to trying out.

Oh wow, what a fab event. Sounds like a great time was had and I love the goodie bag :) xx #SharingtheBlogLove
