Pregnancy | 31 weeks

31 week bump | HD Live scan | HD Live scan | Packing my toiletry bag for hospital

How far along?
31 weeks.

Size of baby?

He's estimated to weigh about 4lbs, although just an estimation. I've noticed a big difference in the shape of my bump this week, it's definitely shooting forward.

Any news this week?

We went to see our little man during a HD Live scan at Miracle In Progress this week. It's the 3rd time we'd been, we really like it there. The staff are so friendly and it's such a lovely, relaxing little place; celebrities from all over the country visit. It was amazing seeing him so clearly on the screen, he's going to be a little chunky monkey I think. An overwhelming experience seeing him moving around and yawning. :)
I also started sorting more of the baby bits out this week; arranging the bath box and nappy box, making room in kitchen cupboards for feeding equipment, packing my toiletries bag for hospital [blog post coming soon] and even started washing some baby clothes!!
This week, I'm starting to get more annoyed with everyone telling me how MASSIVE I am. Yes I'm aware how big I am, I'm carrying it!! :) Even today a girl I hadn't spoke to in a while stopped me in the street 'You can't have long left, you're MASSIVE!!' Um thanks, I still have 8 weeks left...

Clothes?
I've been living in New Look Maternity Leggings (£14.99 x2) with maternity vests. I wore my Blooming Marvellous Maxi Dress from Mothercare (£30.00) for my Grandad's funeral this week too.

Products?
This week I've continued to moisturise daily with both Phytorelax Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Cream [as far as I'm aware you can only get this in the US, unless imported into stores such as TK Maxx which is where I picked it up from; £4.99] And of course my faithful, Palmer's Cocoa Butter Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks (£2.10).  I've also kept my bottle of Anatomicals Spray Misty For Me Facial Spritz (£3.12) next to my bed as I'm really suffering with hot feet and needing to cool both my feet and face down at night times!!

Symptoms:
I've got it all now! Bad back ache, bump ache, feeling REALLY tired this week, starting to walk with a waddle, constant leg cramps, heartburn, acid reflux and generally feeling really heavy and uncomfortable.

Sleep:
Still sleeping well, probably due to being so tired! Still sleeping on top of the covers every night, wrapped around my Argos Sleep Pillow (£11.99).

Missing anything?
Having energy, being able to do normal things. All worth it though! :)

Movement:
Oh wow, he's got some strong limbs on him. As he's getting so big I'm feeling his strong movements constantly.

Any purchases?:
Nothing new this week.

Best moment this week:
The amazing HD scan.

Worst moment this week:
My Grandad's funeral.

Food cravings:
I still can't get enough cereal and ice lollies at the moment!! I can't imagine how many ice lollies and ice poles I get through a day!!

Anything making you queasy or sick:

No.

Belly Button in or out?

It's at the surface, so haven't really got an inny or an outy right now :)

Mood:

Really tired.

Looking forward to:

32 week midwife appointment this week.

Can't believe I'm now 32 weeks, 8 weeks to go!!

  6. Wow...congratulations about your pregnancy. Soon you'll get to meet your little man and all the aches and pains will be worth it. How are you coping in this heat? I hope you're not melting too much. It sounds like you're making a really good start in preparation for the baby - I don't think I packed my hospital bag until I was 38 weeks. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
