Part of my every day makeup routine includes a slick of top liner. It finishes off my eyes perfectly. My favourite kind of liner is a chunky felt tip style liner and I fell in love with the Be A Bombshell Eyeliner in Onyx ($14.00*) I received in a beauty box last year, it was most definitely the best liner I had used. So I was gutted when I realised I couldn't get it shipped from America and couldn't find anywhere I could purchase it from.
So, I went on the hunt for the perfect eyeliner.
I purchased 4 eyeliners, and put them to the test.
Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Thick & Thin Eyeliner (£5.49) - I love the idea behind this, it is a small felt tip liner with a slanted nib to draw a thick or a thin line depending on how you hold it, and with a bit of practise if you slant it right, you get the most perfect cat eye flick. That said, it was pretty tricky to get a perfect line and the felt tip nip was quite dry which meant I had to go over, and often drag the nib, which isn't great. And it seemed to dry out really quickly, as you can see in the pictures.
Bourjois Intuitive Liner (£6.99) - The idea behind this liner is with the 3 point felt tip style nib, is if you tap the nib across the lash line, in a dotting motion, creates fine, intense line. I find that applying it on a slant, it creates the most perfect cat eye flick and you can easily play around with thick or thin lines with the perfect soft felt tip style nib. Again the line on paper doesn't do it justice as I was rushing, but take my word for it, it's my favourite eyeliner nib since the Be A Bombshell :)
MAC Superslick Liquid Eyeliner in On The Hunt (£17.00) - I've used this for a while, in a few different shades. It is really easy to apply and with a sturdy, yet flexible thin nib it creates a good line and flick. It dries fast and lasts all day. But, being water based, even the blackest shade is never black enough for me, more grey, as the image shows.
Seventeen Semi Permanent Tattoo Me Liquid Eyeliner (£4.99) - I'd heard great things about this liner, eyeliner that won't smudge, budge and lasts upto 48 hours [as if you would tho?!] and I'll admit, once it's on, it's not going anywhere. It is the ultimate waterproof liner. And it's super super black, which is a big plus for me! It does take a while to dry as the consistency is quite thick and on the brush quite gloopy. And with a small flexible brush, rather than a felt tip style nib which I prefer, application is a little trickier and can be a bit messy; which isn't fun when it's so tough to remove.
Overall, my favourite from these 4 is definitely the Bourjois Intuitive Liner. I love the different looks you can create with this liner, thick or thin lines. The application is super smooth and easy, lasts all day with no fading and is a gorgeous, intense black shade. It's my perfect turn to liner for an every day look or a more dramatic line. And at £6.99 it won't break the bank.
Do you have a favourite eyeliner you think I should try??
Without seeing your photo I would have said the Intuitive is the best one from your swatches alone x
