Film Review - The Smurfs 2

We're a big fan of family movies, ones in which we can all sit and enjoy as a family, and we love going to the cinema, although it's a pricey afternoon out nowadays. HOW expensive is the cinema nowadays?? But it was Wednesday, so a cheeky Orange Wednesday code, plus enough Odeon Premiere Club points for a free ticket and we were off to the cinema to see The Smurfs 2 in 3D, for £11 for the 3 of us. Bargain!

If you're looking for something to keep the children entertained during the holidays, take them to see this. It's a crowd pleaser for all ages. We were all giggling in some parts. It had humour, emotion and a silly little storyline behind it. It wasn't the most amazing film I've ever seen, but as far as family animations go, it was a perfectly pleasant and enjoyable movie. You begin to get to know the little characters behind the Smurfs, and it's hard not to get sucked into the whole drama of 'will they or wont they get to Smurfette (Katy Perry) in time?!' Although aimed at the younger generation, there was still a good ol' grown up storyline woven in too. I really enjoyed it. For a sequel, it was pretty damn good. 

My 9 year old, Bradley commented, 'It was really good, The Smurfs are funny!'
My partner James commented, 'I thought it was better than the first one..' 

Would I recommend it?
If you have children, most definitely. I've read quite mixed reviews, but we all loved it! 

The Smurfs 2 is available to watch in 2D & 3D at your local cinema now.
